The Vancouver & District Championship is now complete as it was a great weekend for the Women’s Pairs event. With great weather on the final day players took the greens for the playoffs to determine this years champion. On Kau Au and Shirley Choi won the Gold Medal in a close battle with Josephine Lee and Barbara Fong. In the Bronze Medal game it was Lorraine Choi and her partner, narrowly beating out Syndey Hope and Myrle Lawrence, in a game that came down to the final bowl. All four teams played some great bowls in this two day event, to make it to the final game.

A big thanks to Ken Hope who chaired the tournament, along with the WV members that helped make this tournament a success. Jean Beck with the 50/50 draws and a big thanks to Don Beck who was the Head Umpire for the weekend.

Overall it was a fantastic two days bowls at the West Van LBC, as many spectators were out to support the sport. Congratulations to all the competing teams and good luck the rest of the season.
