WVLBC Hosts Valentine’s Day Brunch…
This year the WVLBC hosted a Valentine’s Brunch that saw 40 of our members come out to attend the event put together by Sue Hall and Sharon Lampman, with the help of Stephen Lampman.
This was the first event that our sponsor Fresh St. Market helped us with the food. We would like to thank them for all their donations. This will be a fantastic partner for us throughout the year and they are already looking forward to helping us with our next event. There was so much food that everyone in attendance was able to take leftovers home. One of the best parts of the day is that we had such a large amount of food that Sue was able to take the extra food over to the homeless shelter for a special Valentine’s treat and of course this was welcomed with open arms.
At the door everyone was greeted with Mimosa’s to kick off the Saturday Brunch. The food was amazing and the menu was extensive. Everything from French Toast, Muffins, Scones, Pancakes, Sausages, Potatoes, Quiche, you name it, we had it! Tea and coffee followed the Brunch with amazing deserts. To finish off the event Door prizes were given out to a few lucky winners as we had a few draws for some special Valentine’s gifts! The bonding with the members was fantastic as everyone had a blast.
Sue would like to thank Sharon for her idea, planning the menu, doing all the baking and cooking she did. She also helped to set up the decorations. Also a big thank you to all the volunteers that helped with the kitchen cleanup – Mary Matzhold, Iona Copping, Maureen Seddon, Mary Kempton, Gerry Smith, Joan Fraser, Marion Ladkin and Paulette Caille.
A huge Congratulations to everyone who attended and to Sharon and Sue, the organizers of the event. Hopefully this is the first of many as fun was had by all!
